5,000 enthusiastic, charming and well mannered Brits in party mood combined with superb music - that was „Snowbombing 2013“ in Mayrhofen. This event is one of the most important festivals in Europe and has become synonymous with our region. Guests and locals alike were spoilt for choice again this year. Top DJ’s and bands from England provided some sensational music highlights in a whole host of locations.
HIGHTLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
The „Racket Club“ was again home to great festivities, as was the Sport Hotel. One particular highlight of the week was the legendary „Street Party“, which was held at the music ´pavilion again this year.
And no „Street Party“ is worth its salt without an entertaining theme. So, true to form, the Engländers rocked up dressed as cartoon characters and mythical creatures. The ultimate highlights were two „Forest Parties“ at the forest festival area. It was "Example"s turn on Thursday to hit the stage, where they performed to an enthusiastic crowd of 2,000. „Kasabian“ was the fantastic final act on Friday - where 3,000 music fans braved the rainy weather and rocked the forest festival area.
Celebrations carried on until the early hours - the "Snowbombers" certainly enjoyed their time in the Zillertal Valley: „The surroundings are simply awesome. Mountains, ski slopes and snow - we don't have this in England“, reported a young "Bomber". „We come every year to Snowbombing in Mayrhofen and the journey is definitely worth it. The locals are so friendly - we'll be back next year for sure.“
