While walking through Mayrhofen it seems like music is coming from every house. It gets even louder if you pass the „Hooo Ruck“ house - home to the Aschenwald Family. Erwin Aschenwald is a top musician, poet, composer and THE original "Zillertaler".

Together with his sons, Erwin Aschenwald jun., Michael Aschenwald and friends, Thomas Partl and Ulli Huber,  die Mayrhofner dominate the folk music scene with their  unique sound.

Die Mayrhofner make the kind of music that (unfortunately) is only seldom heard.

Brigitte Brot has been married to Jochen for 20 years and never once has he said „I love you“ to her! Obviously, Brigitte is losing her patience. Her daughter, Julia, wants to marry a nice Turkish lad called Memmet, who says „Isch liebä Disch“ (I love you) all day long to Julia. Brigitte gets jealous and swears: If her husband does not manage to say these three little words by their 20th wedding anniversary, she will leave him on the very same day... (performed in German)

Martin Jung talks about his travel experiences. A cup of tea is a sign of hospitality, and one that Martin Jung was constantly offered on his journey from Istanbul to Kathmandu. He was on the road for six months travelling through the Orient by public transport, from Turkey to Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, to China and finally through Pakistan and India to Nepal. 20.000km were covered on roads leading from bazaars of the Old Persian Empire to the deserts of Central Asia and up to the roof of the world.

An eventful and varied journey through nine countries and three cultures, following in the footsteps of Alexander the Great, the old Silk Road and the hippie trail.
