Crossing the Alps

Erwin Aschenwald Platz'l
Erwin Aschenwald - front man of "Die Mayrhofner" and Zillertal born and bred has done a great deal for the Zillertal Valley and Mayrhofen in particular. He has made our village and the valley a household name - way beyond Austria's borders.
Mayrhofen-Hippach Tourist Board have built the Erwin Aschenwald Platz'l next to the Stillupperhaus in the Stilluptal Valley and dedicated it to our dear friend, Erwin. It was officially opened on 25. September 2014
All visitors now have the opportunity to conveniently send holiday greetings (with picture & text) from the information monitors in Mayrhofen and Hippach.
Mountain hut bookings made easy
The 6 mountain huts that line the route of the "Peter-Habeler-Route" high alpine trail can be conveniently booked online from home. The pleasant thing about it: You can start the route from whatever mountain hut you fancy.
You can also book the huts for the entire route or for individual sections of this high alpine trail.

Tyrolean Schnapps Route
The so-called Schnapps Route exists in Tyrol since 2014. There are 2,500 distilleries in total that have possessed distilling rights since the times of Empress Maria Theresia's reign. Since then, the art of schnapps making has been passed down the generations.
The Tyrolean Schnapps Route also leads through the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region. Here you will find four traditional distilleries that offer visitors a peek into the world of distilling fine spirits.
