The bizarre rock formations and steep rock faces found in the Zillertal Alps National Park provide pure excitement for climbing enthusiasts. Alpinists equipped with rope, pickaxe and crampons will find perfect summit tours.

Among other things the visitor will find here are the "Ewigen Jagdgründe" (Eternal Hunting Grounds). Two approx. 60 m-high granite rocks that arise just a few minutes before the Gasthof Breitlahner in the Zemmgrund. This climbing ground, with a difficulty of 4-10, is very safe and is among the finest in Europe. Some of the best longer routes for sports climbers are also to be found around Ginzling. Also concealed here is one of the largest areas of boulders.

Mountain climbing is and remains a special experience. The great-grandchildren of the great mountain guides and pioneers are today leading figures in the modern mountaineering scene.

More information about mountaineering can be obtained from the office in Ginzling or in the Mayrhofen/Hippach  Tourism Association.
