And one more thing is housed here: the centrepiece of the visitor centre is the family friendly exhibition “Gletscher.Welten” (Glacial.Worlds).

An exhibition for all five senses.

No display cases, no signs asking visitors “Please do not touch”. Quite the opposite: visitors here should touch, feel and experience in the true sense of the word. The exhibition invites you to retrace the footsteps of a forgotten expedition into the Zillertaler Alps. Two scientists were looking for a weather satellite to clear up questions about climate change. Visitors can discover what happened to them and what special features of the High Alpine Nature Park they discovered at various interactive stations. You can lose yourself in the past and the future of the continent, climb a via ferrata of alpine history and listen in on interviews with locals in a guesthouse. And, in the glacial cave, the mystery of Professor Zsigmondy and his companion will be revealed.

Definitely worth watching!
