Mayrhofen Festival Area offers a haven of peace, quiet and serenity, where you won't find any flashy decorations or annoying background jingles. Zillertal customs during Advent
In Zillertal, we cherish the tradition of shepherd's seeking shelter during the run-up to Christmas. On Thursdays, Klöpfelsinger (carol singers), dressed as shepherds, go from house to house to perform songs and recite poems. In Mayrhofen, you can join in the custom of "Anklöpfeln", when the Men's Choir and Town Brass Band perform traditional songs and melodies at various pre-given locations, such as the cemetary, the church, Hotel Edenlehen and Hollenzen village fountain.
