Mayrhofen is known above all for its excellent skiing area and two mountain cable car systems, which lead directly from the town centre to an altitude of 2,000 m. The Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region, however, has a great deal to offer away from the classic ski slopes. There is something here for everyone, no matter whether you seek active sports, peace and quiet, or pleasures of the palate.

Out and about on snow and ice
Whether classic or skating - it is up to you to decide how you want to partake of this all-round healthy sport on the nine cross-country ski trails in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region. The groomed cross-country trails lead cross-country skiers through the region, whilst offering a wonderful mountain panorama. The cross-country ski runs are groomed when snow heights reach 25 cm and provide every sports enthusiast with optimal conditions. The ice rink is located right in the centre of Mayrhofen. Ice skating shoes can be hired there and everyone is offered the opportunity to demonstrate their skills on ice. There are also skating aids available for children. An inviting cafe entices those taking a break from ice skating and spectators to linger.
There are also several toboggan runs in the holiday region where families in particular will have a ball. Refreshments can be enjoyed at Tristenbachalm mountain inn at Ginzling Winter Magic, before sledders take off on a thrilling toboggan ride. At Schwendberg, fast-paced toboggan fun is offered by the natural toboggan runs at Nasenalm, Brindlingalm or the Rastkogel Hut. Sledders can also whizz comfortably down to the valley and Mayrhofen along the natural toboggan run at Gasthaus Wiesenhof.
