Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region is once again the focal point of this international music festival at the end of the winter season. Headliner Liam Gallagher is making his second appearance in the Zillertal Valley. He is just one of many renowned artists for whom the festival is an unmissable fixture on their annual event calendar. Ski jumping legend Eddie the Eagle has also announced his attendance again. Thanks to the incredible line-up, Snowbombing will be the "Greatest Show on Snow" all over again.
The finest musical highlights
Everyone has heard of Liam Gallagher, front man of the world-famous Oasis band, who delivered some memorable moments on the Forest Stage last year. The Streets', who achieved their worldwide breakthrough with hits such as 'Fit but you know it' and 'Dry Your Eyes', will also be firing up the atmosphere. Performances by the creme de la creme of the music scene with DJ sets by Chase & Status, Rudimental and Wilkinson add even more class to this eclectic event. Your legs will be given a run for their money too, what with dancing down in the valley and shimmy sessions galore on the mountain downhill runs. Not only that, Mr. Motivator will be providing an extra serving of spandex during his warm-up programmes to diverse DJ sounds on the sun terraces and huts on the mountain.
More headliners are already chafing at the bit to be part of the best winter festival in the world famous 'The Hof’. The whole line-up can be found under www.snowbombing.com
This needs to be seen to be believed
Not only is the repertoire of artists an eclectic mix, but the programme elements too. The Festival Week will be opened on Sunday afternoon, April 12th, with around about 150 vehicles in convoy and festooned in the 'Rock Electric Road Trip’ theme. Locals and guests jostle for space along Mayrhofen High Street for hours before the festival begins, to get the best seats and then of course the best pictures. Another event highlight is 'The Planet Snowbombing Street Party' at the Music Pavilion on Tuesday, 14th April. On stage: ‚The Streets‘, ‚Kurupt FM‘, ‚The Cuban Brothers‘, ‚Dub Pistols‘ - in the audience: astronauts, aliens, space cowboys, Mr. Spock and Co.
Locals are welcome to mingle with event attendees for free - entry stamps can be picked up at the admission area.
Right in the thick of it - not just on the sidelines
