The idyllically situated mountaineering village of Ginzling, at 1,000 m above sea level and at the gateway to the Zemmgrund Valley, is transformed into a fairy-tale snow paradise during the cold season. Mayrhofen-Hippach Tourist Board, together with Ginzling authorities, Zillertal Alps Nature Park and its catering establishments offer a varied range of winter activities under the auspicious adage of "Ginzling Winter Magic". The spectrum ranges from snow tubing and fun toboggan rides, to cross-country skiing in clear mountain air, guided snowshoe or ski touring tours in pristine natural landscapes. A leisure tip for all those who enjoy a slower and more serene pace: winters here are like those of yesteryear.
After its successful premiere last winter, Ginzling Winter Magic is now opening its doors for a second time round. Organisers have again succeeded in putting together a broad and mostly free activity program for locals and guests this year.
Nature Park House at the entrance to the mountaineering village, is the ideal starting point to access all activities in just a few walking minutes. Just behind the building, for example, the Floiten lift with its easy nursery slope makes it especially easy for beginners of all ages to commence their "ski career".
Great fun can also be had with a racy ride on rubber tyres on the Snowtubing course, which runs directly alongside the Floiten lift. Those who prefer a classic toboggan run, on the other hand, are well catered for on the natural tobogganing trail, with its starting point at Tristenbachalm. This cosy mountain cabin is also the perfect place to take a warming break, before hurtling through the crystal clear winter air back down to the valley.
Ginzling cross-country ski run, with a total length of 6.7 km, has all the ingredients every enthusiastic cross-country skier could wish for - a perfectly groomed trail with a breathtaking mountain panorama as your backdrop, with just the sound of your swishing skis in the air. The entrance to the groomed classic and skating trail is also located next to the Nature Park House.
A range of guided ski and snowshoe tours with local guides rounds off the Ginzling Winter Magic activity programme. All details of the tours, as well as fee-based registrations including rental equipment can be accessed online via the myZillertal.app adventure platform.
There is also plenty of opportunity to enjoy a warming break or refreshing snack after a busy day. Ginzling’s catering establishments take it in turns to open their inviting dining lounges and welcome visitors with local delicacies.
