Discover the world of herbs and their secrets
The hike starts at the historic Mitterstall in the sunny municipality of Brandberg, right at the entrance to the village. The Mitterstall houses the “Kulturlandschafts.Welten” exhibition and, since 2024, a small alpine herb shop, a cabinet with many herbal products, has also moved into this beautiful building. The “former” conventional physician and theologian Joseph Heim has dedicated himself to the world of herbs for many years and is known as the Almkräuterer. After a short round of introductions, in which individual wishes can also be expressed, the walk into the Brandberg “Nature Herb Garden” begins. In addition to botany, individual processing methods for teas, tinctures, oils, spices, food and incense as well as oxymele are explained. Of course, the culinary and medicinal aspects are not neglected either.
