Panoramic tour around Mayrhofen
Description
Discover the changing landscape on the Leonhard Stock Trail
We follow the hiking trail towards Astegg, where a fantastic view of Mayrhofen and its surroundings opens up. The first signs of climate change can be seen in the landscape. These invite you to take short breaks to get to the bottom of the changes, chat about them and look into the future of the village. At the first turn-off towards Tuxertal, we follow the gentle “Leonhard-Stock-Weg”, which is named after the Olympic champion born in Finkenberg. Our next destination is the Tuxbach gorge in the protected landscape area of Glocke. We hike through a magnificent beech forest along the geologically interesting limestone vein on a narrow path, including an encounter with the “Hochstegen marble”, down to the valley floor. After a leisurely rest, we return to Mayrhofen along the Ziller.
