Via Ferrata Astegg

The entrance to „Astegg via Ferrate“ is located directly next to the exit of the „Pfeilspitzwand“ via ferrate, ca. 5 min. above Gasthaus Zimmereben. The entrance ramp is followed by a ca. 50 m high rock wall graded B/C in difficulty, then rock and forest terrain graded A/B. The route then leads along ca. 200 m to the foot of the wall, partly in rock, and on until a ca. 100m high climbing wall graded C. There is also a more difficult D/E variation, but you can bypass it by taking the easier C route. A hiking path then leads along a forest trail and on towards Gasthaus Astegg and the Mariensteig Trail (descent to Mayrhofen ca. 1 hour).

Here, a few facts on the climbing route:

  • Target group: Beginner to advanced
  • Level of difficulty: A/C
  • Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Elevation difference: 260m
  • Cable length: ca. 450m
