From December to April, the Mayrhofner Bergbahnen guarantee top conditions and unforgettable days on the slopes. With 80% of the ski slopes lying above 1,700 meters on average across the area, and thanks to state-of-the-art snowmaking technology, perfect conditions are not a matter of chance but a promise. Here, winter sports are as reliable as the mountains themselves – offering not only snow, but also the perfect stage for your winter experience.

MOUNTOPOLIS BUILT ON SNOW

• Reaching higher (almost): With slopes reaching over 2,500 m above sea level and most runs above 1,700 m, ideal snow conditions are guaranteed.

• High-tech over hiccups: A powerful network of state-of-the-art snowmaking systems guarantees fun on the slopes, even when Mother Nature takes a break.

• Snow in reserve: Five massive water reservoirs secure snowmaking on Mount Ahorn, Penken, and Horberg.

• An extra-long season: From the very first turns in December to sunny spring skiing in April – Mountopolis delivers reliability when it comes to snow.

SLOPE AND SNOW MANAGEMENT

• When building ski slopes, terrain optimization, water drainage, retention basins and the recultivation of disturbed areas are key to ensuring ecological compatibility and safety.

• In summer, ski slopes are maintained through fertilization and mulching to support healthy vegetation.

• State-of-the-art snowmaking technology ensures maximum efficiency. Five reservoirs with a combined capacity of 470,000 m³ of drinking-quality water allow us to take full advantage of cold periods. We produce maximum snow with minimal water and energy use.

• A specialized weather forecast for our ski area provides temperature and wet-bulb data to optimize snowmaking planning.

• Monitoring includes snow production planning and consumption tracking at tapping points for efficient resource use.

• Our snow groomers use GPS-based fleet management and fully automated snow depth measurement to ensure consistent slope coverage. Ongoing driver training helps optimize fuel consumption.

• We also conduct field tests with snow cannons to maximize input-output performance.
