Check current traffic conditions on your route before setting off.
Purchase the 'Vignette' motorway toll required to use the motorway. The digital motorway toll vignette can be purchased conveniently online and a 1 day validity option is available as from 2024.
Timing: Plan your departure so you avoid peak times and areas where congestion can be expected.
Vehicle check: Check your vehicle before departure (tyres, especially winter tyres in winter, tyre pressure, oil level, cooling liquid, etc.).
Emergency equipment: Make sure you have emergency equipment in the car (warning triangle, first aid kit, high-visibility safety vest).
Travel documents: Check all necessary travel documents (identity card & passport, driving licence, vehicle documents).
Travel comfort: Pack snacks, drinks and, if necessary, entertainment for children to make the journey more enjoyable.
All roads lead to Zillertal
Travelling from the east or north
Take the A1, A8 and A93 motorways from Munich/Salzburg/Vienna to Kiefersfelden. Then continue on the A12 Inntal motorway to the Zillertal exit and then on the B169 to Mayrhofen-Hippach.
from the west
Travel via Vorarlberg in the direction of Innsbruck on the A12 Inntal motorway to the Zillertal exit. Then continue on the B169 Zillertal Bundesstraße to Mayrhofen-Hippach.
from the south
Take the A10 motorway from Klagenfurt (Carinthia) to Salzburg or the A9 motorway from Graz to Liezen and continue on the A10 motorway to Salzburg or Bischofshofen.
