Description

"Silent Night - Holy Night" in Mayrhofen, Zillertal

Local artisans invite you to linger, browse, and discover beautiful, handcrafted creations at the Mayrhofen Advent. Traditional Zillertal craftsmanship takes centre stage – with handmade Doggeln (felt slippers) and lovingly crafted nativity scenes, to unique gift ideas made from natural materials.

Festive cheer fills the air at the Forest Festival Area, with local choirs, Klöpfelsinger (traditional carol singers), brass ensembles, and joyful community singing. Mayrhofen Advent is a truly special experience for visitors of all ages – especially for children, who can look forward to meeting St Nicholas, visiting the festive bakery, and making friends in the petting zoo.

A short 300-metre stroll through the romantic Scheulingwald forest takes you from the main street in Mayrhofen to the Forest Festival Area (Waldfestplatz). Rustic wooden chalets and a concert stage surround this charming woodland square. Festive lighting transforms the forest into a cosy, almost magical setting. The huts are beautifully furnished, offering comfortable seating, warm blankets, and tables where visitors can relax, savour local delicacies, listen to music, enjoy small theatre performances, and simply spend quality time with family and friends.
