Description
The Penkenjoch Loop Hike Ticket (Penkenjoch Rundwander Ticket) lets you use 4 cable cars in one day. Start your hiking day, for example, with the Penkenbahn and the Kombibahn Penken and ride down with the Finkenberger Almbahnen – or the other way round. Up on the mountain, at around 1,800 metres, 2 beautiful winter hiking trails lead you to all the cable cars and make your day on the Penken a winter hiking treat.
WINTER HIKING PATH PENKEN
The trail starts at the Kombibahn mountain station and leads to the Granatalm at Penkenjoch and back. This leisurely walk offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Duration: approx. 1 hour. Our tip: Before riding down to the valley with the Penkenbahn, relax in a deckchair on the sun terrace at the mountain station and take a little journey through ski history on the "Zeitreise" information boards – panoramic views included!
BERGWALDWEG FOREST PATH
Hike from the Penkenbahn mountain station to the middle station of the Finkenberger Almbahnen. Along the BergWaldWeg forest path you can enjoy the idyllic landscape and wonderful views of Mount Ahorn and the Stillup valley opposite. Duration: approx. 1.5 hours (4.7 km). Our tip: Take the Finkenberger Almbahn up to Penkenjoch and walk the winter hiking path back to the Kombibahn Penken, which takes you back to the Penkenbahn. Or ride the Finkenberger Almbahn down to the valley station and take the bus (not included in the ticket price) back to Mayrhofen.
Good to know: The regular pedestrian ticket (return trip) is not valid on the Finkenberger Almbahnen – the Penkenjoch Loop Hike Ticket is.
