Chapel - John the Baptist
On September 11, 2010, the newly built chapel was consecrated on the Gschirraste. Michael Schöser donated the church in memory of Archbishop Johannes Geisler, who grew up in Gschirr, and as a thank you for recovery from a serious illness.
The chapel is placed under the protection of John the Baptist, and the altar room is decorated with, among other things, the monstrance found during renovation work on the attic. The consecration service was celebrated by guest pastor Rolf Merkle, who frequently spends his free time at Schwendberg as a hutkeeper. The Bläserduo Walter Sauerwein-Adi Rinner and the Hippach church choir framed the atmospheric celebration.
Following the ceremony, the numerous guests were treated to a culinary experience and were able to spend pleasant hours with "Schneidig and Krump" in picture-perfect autumn weather.
