To the view at Steinerkogl

Via the “Brandberger Reibn”

From the Europahaus Mayrhofen we hike through the secluded Scheulingwald forest, where the old footpath to Brandberg begins. Through unspoiled forest we reach the Brandberg Chapel and on to Gasthof Steinerkogl via narrow serpentines, also known in the Zillertal as the “Brandberger Reibn”. The ascent is rewarded time and again with magnificent views down into the valley and up to the high mountains of the Zillertal Alps. After a long rest on the panoramic terrace of the Steinerkogl Nature Park partner business, we hike along the meadow path and past old farms to Gasthof Thanner in Brandberg. The bus takes us back to Mayrhofen train station.

Duration: approx. 4.5 hours; of which 2.5 hours are pure walking time
