BÖHMERWALDKAPELLE SCHINNEN CONCERT

Description

The winners of the 2024 Folk Music Grand Prix will be performing live on the MusikInsel on Mount Penken!

In 2014, they released their first CD, "Mit Musik gehn wir auf Reisen," which included the new Bohemian classic "Böhmische Liebe" (Böhmische Liebe) by composer Mathias Rauch, which has sold several thousand copies in the Benelux countries, Germany, and Austria and has millions of views on YouTube. The song, released for the first time on CD by the Böhmerwaldkapelle, has become a classic and has been among the top three brass bands for years.

In 2015, the Böhmerwaldkapelle successfully participated in the European Brass Band Championships in the highest category, also known as the "professional level," and finished as European runner-up. In 2016, the Böhmerwaldkapelle participated in the Lechner Festival in Bisschofshofen (A), Austria, at the invitation of the Lechner family. The field consisted exclusively of top orchestras from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.

In 2018, their second CD, "Music for Gourmets," was released. In 2022, the very last Lechner Festival took place in Bischofshofen, to which the Böhmerwaldkapelle was again invited. The Böhmerwaldkapelle has since become a highly sought-after band both at home and abroad. At the beginning of this year, they decided to participate in the Grand Prix of Brass Band and were selected by the jury as one of four finalists. This prestigious competition, which previously only featured top bands from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, was contested. The Böhmerwaldkapelle was the first participant from the Netherlands to dare to enter this competition.

On October 27, the Böhmerwaldkapelle traveled to Kempten. With a beautiful program and beautiful new compositions, they were crowned winners of the 2024 Brass Band Grand Prix. Now, they have great performances ahead of them, including Blechlawine (A), Woodstock der Blasmusik (A), Open Air Altusried (D), and many more, as well as a CD recording in the Klangfabrik studios with Holger Müller.

We are looking forward to the first concert with Böhmerwaldkapelle Schinnen on the MusikInsel on Mount Penken.
