Along the Bergmähderweg to the butterfly paradise
From Gasthof Thanner, we hike through the Brandberg meadows and then along the picturesque Bergmähderweg trail to the Kolmhaus (1,845 m). A colorful floral splendor and true butterfly paradise awaits us there, which has been intensively studied by researchers in recent years. The Kolmhaus is a rustic refuge at the entrance to a high valley, with the mighty Brandberger Kolm towering above it. We take a long break and enjoy the view of the Tux and Zillertal Alps. We then walk along the shady forest path back to the sunny village of Brandberg. Book tip: The accompanying booklet (€ 3) is available at the Nature Park House or Brandberg municipal office!
