The art of distilling spirits has a long and cherished tradition in Mayrhofen-Hippach. For generations, this craft has been practised with dedication and skill. In celebration of this rich heritage, the idea emerged to create something truly special together. Eight master distillers combined their experience, knowledge, and passion to craft an exceptional schnapps that embodies the essence of our homeland.
Flavour & Production
Potent, aromatic and distinctive
"Maysterwurz" - premium schnapps captivates with its intense, fresh root aroma, complemented by a delicate apple note – sweet, earthy, and traditional.
Masterwort, valued for centuries as a medicinal plant, grows above the tree line exclusively in the primordial shale rock, reaching a height of up to one metre.
Harvesting begins in mid-September, when the sap migrates from the flower to the root. The freshly processed plant reveals grassy, celery-like aromas, while the dried roots present earthy tones. These harmonise beautifully with sweet pear and apple notes, creating a distinctive fine schnapps.
