Health & Well-Being

Regular sauna sessions stimulate the immune system, boost circulation in the skin and create an overall sense of well-being. The interplay of heat and cold helps restore physical balance – ideal on winter days or after hikes, bike rides and skiing adventures in Zillertal. Please note: In Austria, the sauna is a nude area.

  • Swimwear is not permitted!

  • One must also be naked to use the steam bath. When visiting the Finnish sauna, you must place a towel on the bench and another under your feet.

  • Entry to the sauna area is only permitted for those aged 16 and over.

Solarium – warming sunshine all year round

Erlebnisbad Mayrhofen offers high-performance solariums for an even, natural-looking tan. Three coin-operated solariums are located in the entrance area and can be used without paying the pool admission fee. Additional solariums are available in the sauna area.

Solariums are technical devices that expose the body to UV light, helping the skin develop a tanned, well-cared-for appearance. Many guests use them to complement their wellness visit or to prepare for sunny days outdoors. Please follow the safety instructions to ensure a relaxed tanning experience.

Positive aspects of modern UV treatment

The warmth of this “artificial sun” can feel wonderfully soothing and may even lift your mood. Sunbathing can trigger several bio-positive effects, as confirmed by numerous international studies in recent years. The key, however, is always moderation! UV treatment has been shown to alleviate certain skin conditions – for example acne – and artificial sunlight has also proven effective in the treatment of neurodermatitis.

Guidelines for use

Please observe these rules every time you use a sunbed:

  • Do NOT use sun cream in the solarium.

  • Do NOT apply perfumes or cosmetics before using a solarium.

  • If you have a skin condition or are unsure about health effects, consult your doctor!

Do not use a solarium if:

  • You have a sensitive skin type (very fair skin, freckles, blond or red hair, blue or green eyes).

  • Your skin has many moles (birthmarks).

  • You have had skin cancer (or a precancerous skin condition).

  • You have received an organ transplant.

  • You are under 18 years old – by law, sunbed use has been restricted in Austria to those aged 18 and over since 1st September 2010.
